Customize an organization's card-issuing settings

Learn how you can set an organization up with its very own card-issuing settings.

You might have a special arrangement with an organization to issue physical or virtual cards that differ from your default card-issuing settings. Here’s how you can set up an organization with its own unique card-issuing settings.

How to set custom card-issuing settings for an organization

Partner Administrator Feature

This feature is only available for partner administrators. It is not available for employer administrators.

  1. Select Organizations.

  2. Select the applicable organization.

  3. Select Organization Settings.

  4. Under Card-Issuing, select your preferred card-issuing settings.

  5. Select Review Changes.

  6. Upon reviewing the confirmation message, select Update Card Settings.

Options

There are five options for card-issuing settings. Issuing will send cards to members; the option to request will allow card-enabled benefit program members to request a physical or virtual card.

  • No Cards. Members can only submit claims for reimbursement.

  • Only Virtual Cards. Issue virtual cards.

  • Virtual Cards and Physical by Request. Issue virtual cards and provide the option to request physical cards.

  • Physical Cards and Virtual by Request. Issue physical cards and provide the option to request virtual cards.

  • Virtual and Physical Cards. Issue virtual and physical cards.

Updates

Updates will be applied to an existing organization’s new members, benefit renewals, and newly created benefits.

Issuing individual cards via member prrofile

If desired, an admin can issue physical cards to existing members of an organization with updated settings through the member's profile.

Example
An existing org previously had their card-issuing settings to Only Virtual Cards. A partner admin updated that organization's card-issuing settings to Virtual & Physical (Both issued).

With this update, future new members will be issued virtual and physical cards. Existing members will be issued physical and virtual cards if their benefit is renewed or they are issued a new benefit. (A benefit event has to occur.)

If desired, partner admins can issue physical cards individually for existing members by visiting the member's profile on the Health Wallet Manager.
