Step-by-step instructions on how to enable the Contribution Assistant

Updated over a week ago

Understanding the Contribution Assistant

If your contributions remain relatively consistent from one pay period to the next, you can utilize “Contribution Assistant” to minimize manual effort and schedule your next contributions. This means that you don’t need to process the next pay period's contributions manually; instead, you can rely on the contributions from the previous pay period.

Contribution Assistant will send you an email reminder each pay period and allow you to make necessary updates or upload a new spreadsheet. If no changes are needed, the last contribution file will run automatically.

Important: Turn on Contribution Assistant before uploading your first contribution spreadsheet if this will be your preferred method. It will only be triggered once a 'Regular' contribution spreadsheet is uploaded.

How to set up the Contribution Assistant

1. Select Settings on the left-hand menu.

2. Find the Payroll section and fill out the Payroll Schedule details. This will allow the Contribution Assistant to upload contributions according to how often your payroll runs. Before moving on to the next step, select Save Changes.

3. In the Contribution Handling section, select Contribution Spreadsheets as the method and slide the Contribution Assistant setting on.

Important reminders:

  • Contribution Assistant will run based on your most recent regular contribution upload. This means any contributions uploaded as a one-time contribution will not be used to determine future contribution uploads.

  • If there are any changes to your employees and/or their contributions, you will have to log into your account and make the edits on the platform. You can edit any contribution by selecting a Pending or In Progress contribution on the Contributions page.

  • You will receive an email every pay period asking you to make any changes as necessary. Should there be no changes, the Contribution Assistant will upload the most recent Regular contribution for the next pay period.

  • Turn on Contribution Assistant before uploading your first contribution spreadsheet if this will be your preferred method. It will only be triggered once a Regular contribution spreadsheet is uploaded.
